Traveling to Hawaii

Aloha Ka’anapali Royal Ohana,

IMPORTANT  TRAVEL  INFORMATION  FOR  YOU  AND  YOUR  GUEST(s)

Percurrent guidelines for travel to Hawaii, until further notice we highly recommend that you obtain proof that the State of Hawaii has cleared your guest during the arrival screening process at the Kahului Airport prior to you issuing door access codes and other arrival instructions. The primary proof is in the form of the Safe Travels app on the guest’s mobile device showing that each individual in the party has been cleared to bypass the 14-day quarantine. We have been told that all arriving individuals to Hawaii will be tracked in a master database for reference of compliance. The secondary proof is the hard copy documentation proving a negative COVID test result within 72-hours of their last travel leg to Hawaii.

Most, if not all, condos and resorts will also require proof that the guests have been cleared before allowing them onto the property.

Please also be sure to educate your guests about the State of Hawaii and Maui County Covid-19 guidelines.  This will help avoid confusion, delays, and other travel-related frustrations for your valued guests.

Finally, providing us with accurate emergency contact telephone numbers and flight times for your guests is especially important now more than ever.

The current guidelines are detailed below for your reference:

IMPORTANT TRAVEL UPDATES AS OF 9/17/2020:

Governor Ige announced that the launch of the pre-travel testing program to begin on OCTOBER 15, 2020.

The Pre-Travel Testing Program is scheduled to begin on October 15.  Travelers, who, upon entry into the state, provide written confirmation from a state-approved COVID-19 testing facility of a negative test result from a test administered to the traveler within 72 hours from the final leg of departure, will be exempt from the 14-day mandatory quarantine.

Currently approved is the processing by laboratories that are licensed or certified by Clinical Laboratories Improvement Amendments (CLIA) of specimens for nucleic acid amplification testing approved or authorized by the United States Food and Drug Administration, pursuant to an Emergency Use Authorization or other authorization for COVID-19 testing. The State of Hawaii thus far announced partnerships with Kaiser Permanente, CVS Pharmacies, and Walgreens. Recently, United Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines announced they will be offering COVID testing for passengers at designated airports.

Travelers with Pending COVID Test Results upon Arrival to Hawaii:

Travelers who submitted to the test prior to their departure but did not receive their test result upon arriving in Hawaii must quarantine at a designated property accepting travelers who are subject to quarantine restrictions. The traveler must stay at the designated property, as defined by the State of Hawaii and County of Maui until the traveler receives the negative test result.  Ka’anapali Royal will not accept guests subject to quarantine restrictions. Upon receiving a negative test result, the guest can move from the quarantined property to their Ka’anapali Royal vacation rental unit.

Travelers Without Negative COVID Test Results upon Arrival to Hawaii:

Travelers who did not submit to a COVID test prior to their departure must quarantine for a minimum of 14 days or their entire stay whichever is shorter. The traveler must stay in a designated quarantine property.  By law, Ka’anapali Royal cannot accept guests subject to quarantine restrictions.
