FERAL CATS ON OUR PROPERTY

We have a population of feral (wild) cats on our property…their job is to get rid of the mice…..PLEASE DO NOT FEED ANY OF THE CATS THAT YOU SEE….
FEEDING FERAL CATS HURTS THEM
They might look cute and cuddly but they are not domesticated, they are wild…
Here at Kaanapali Royal, we are working with the Maui Humane Society and Neighborhood Cats (a non-profit) who are experts in the field of cat control and feeding……
All of our cats are being fed EVERY SINGLE DAY on a controlled feeding program…………a program designed to give them healthy food………
If you decide to feed any of the cats, you will not only be defeating our program by over-feeding them, they will have no motivation and not be hungry enough to go out and hunt for mice…………..we have also learned that table food and table scraps, designed for people, will make the cats seriously sick….
We have incorporated our policy on cat feeding into our House Rules…….Owners of the property can be fined if it is determined that visitors staying in their unit have not been following our rules regarding feeding of the cats………….
